Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is currently the leading cause of mortality worldwide. And dyslipidemia is a major and common cardiovascular risk factor in the general population. Statins are widely used despite their potential to cause serious adverse effects such as myopathies and hepatotoxicity.

Several studies have demonstrated the protective effects of curcumin against many chronic diseases, including various cancers, pulmonary disorders, and autoimmune diseases. It has been shown to attenuate oxidative stress and to exert a cardioprotective effect owing to its lipid-lowering properties
